England | The Brighton Pier

One of my favorite places in Brighton is the Pier. You can't miss its iconic shape along the beach. The Pier itself is full of cheesy arcade games, some roller coaster rides at the end that I'm working up the courage to go on, lots of pricey food options, and seagulls who will take your food in a heartbeat. The ferris wheel dominates the horizon to one side, while busy, close-knit buildings fill the other. In the distance you can see the old, burnt down pier and all the way down the coastline.

Unlike the Santa Monica Pier, its not supremely busy (at least for now), and there are deck chairs sprawled along the edges affording one with a beautiful view of the coast and the Channel. If you go to the very end, behind all the rides, you'll be right on the very edge of Brighton with only the sea in front of you before you hit France.

It's a perfect little pier to meander along any time of day or evening. Last week we went up one more time for a friend before coming back down for cheesy chips (fries) and a bit of sunbathing on the beach. I absolutely adore how much the sea color changes nearly every day, and how picturesque Brighton looks over the water.
